Souvenir started 7 years ago, and they have just released their fourth record in their career. Widely known in the independent scene as exquisite connaisseurs of several music styles, they have always been able to muse on their influences with brilliant and original results every time. On their new record it’s time for dance music, this time - ‘64’, echoes the techno-pop, new wave and dance music of their teenage years with brilliant results.

Their career started in 1999 in Spain. Their first mini-CD brought them an unexpected critical acclaim for an indie band singing in French. They soon took part on the Brian Wilson tribute album 'Caroline Now!', which featured Belle And Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub, Saint Etienne, The High Llamas and The Pastels.

An American edition of their mini-CD followed (Shelflife Records) and they started to forge a name in the Asian independent market. In 2001 came their first full-length CD, 'Points de Suspension'. Celebrated as an understated masterpiece, special editions of the record were released in Japan (Tone Vendor records) and the US (Shelflife).

‘Recto/Verso’, their second CD, was released in 2003. By then, admirers of the band included Johan Angergard (Club 8) or Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian) and the band was featured in several international compilations.

While preparing their next record, Souvenir songwriter Jaime was comissioned by French chanteuse Françoiz Breut to write songs for her 'Une Saison Volée', her next album. The result was the song ‘Ciudad del Mar’. Souvenir’s own record was released in 2005. ‘Des équilibres’ was celebrated as their best effort so far and featured understated pop songs tinged with an acoustic mood of pianos, mellow guitars and lap steel guitars.

Their current record, ‘64’, sees the band on a brand new path oriented towards the dance floor.
