‘64’ is the fourth record in Souvenir’s career. In a brilliant stylistic twist the band has recorded ten new dance-oriented songs. Souvenir have been renowned by their wide variety of musical tastes, so this new direction should not surprise the connaisseurs. As ever, the stylish combination of different elements and influences guarantees an exciting result. Thus, in ‘64’ techno-pop, new wave and 80’s dance music have been weaved into a unique tapestry of backing tracks that collide with the elements which have typified the band’s sound all these years: Patricia’s mellow voice and Jaime’s reverb-drenched, surf guitars. The result is ten floor-fillers with great melodies in the French pop canon but dressed with the best of synth-pop fabrics.
